DogTona

Event is from 11 - 4 at the Hendricks Co Fairgrounds
(see details below)

DogTona is sponsored by the Hendricks County Humane Society. The fairgrounds are on U.S. 36 east of Danville. Everything will be indoors. People are free but it is $5 per dog. Dogs must be leashed, current on shots and NOT in heat. The proceeds go to off-leash parks. I think there is one already open in Hendricks County and they're working on a couple more. There will an animal communicator, pet massage therapy and caricaturist plus vendors and rescue booths. The talent show and leave-it competition are at 12:00. The Any-Dog Dog Show is at 2:00.

We have several volunteer positions in need of filling.

#1 Public Relations volunteer

The description for this volunteer would be someone that would be able to contact new volunteers and welcome them to ISR so that they feel comfortable . They need questions answered , guidelines explained etc . This person would also help keep us in contact with shelters - both old contacts and new contacts and work at keeping relationships fresh with overturned staffing at shelters .

#1 Follow ups volunteer

This volunteer would assist in keeping up with adoptions - both newly adopted shelties and those adopted for a long while . Phone calls would be best . Reports of the follow ups need to be sent to Teresa . Any problems with the adoption need to be reported to Teresa and then decided how to proceed on . Follow up person would gather info on adoptions but not make recommendations until a discussion with Teresa and foster home took place .

#2 Public events preliminary planner

This volunteer would assist Teresa in decided what events ISR should participate in based on volunteer availability to help staff and dates and locations etc .
